For You are my hope; O Lord GOD, You are my confidence from my youth. Psalm 71:5 If you will believe that God is able to keep His promises to you, then you stand on the precipice of watching God do the spectacular in your life! This assortment of my favorite promises has been collected from many places. Mostly from women, whether across the country, in my counseling room, or over coffee who have shared their stories of battle and victory. They are the tried and true promises of God that are not to be used as a Band-Aid or a quick fix, but as a lamp to light the way to our Heavenly Father’s heart. If I have done my job, this small collection of God’s promises will strengthen your relationship and hope in Him. It is only because God transcends circumstances so that I can say with all the authority of God’s Word…There is hope! I want to shout it from the mountaintops, “There is hope!” My friend, God is not confined to your circumstance, He is not caught off guard by news of cancer, and He is not limited by an unfaithful husband, or restricted by past failures. There is hope because He is Hope! The sooner we insert God’s Truths into our thinking, the sooner His hope and strength will sustain us. He has already given us all we need to live victoriously, to wait on Him, to have strength in trial, to overcome our fears and so much more! But, if you neglect God’s Word you will soon find your thoughts, responses and reasoning morphed by sin and spiraling dangerously out of control. Without the lamp of God’s Word you will be left to act on your own impulses and in your own wisdom, dishonoring your Savior and destroying lives. Friends, I plead with you to not to turn to lies, instead reach for the all-sufficient Truth! Realize once and for all that food, alcohol, cutting, divorce, men, spending, abuse and the rest will never satisfy you. Reach for God! He holds the only keys to hope, answers, wisdom, and love. He is not stingy and He doesn't hoard blessings. In fact, quite the opposite is true! He has filled His Word with such great and precious promises that He wants to lavish on you. It is my desire that you will grab hold of hope with all your heart and believe that God will do for you just as He has promised!
